  11. I have an A3000 and a NEC CDR-25 CD-ROM drive.  Sometimes the SCSI 
  12. controller locks up on me, and I have to turn the CD-ROM off and on to 
  13. free it up (sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't).  I understand I 
  14. need an upgraded SCSI chip for my A3000 motherboard, so I'm looking for 
  15. one now.  Is this easy to replace, like pull out a chip and pop another 
  16. one in, or is soldering involved?  I don't mind removing the casing and 
  17. pulling a chip, but soldering is a little more touchy...

  19. BTW, I have one internal SCSI hard drive besides the CD-ROM.  But I also 
  20. want to be able to add an external removable drive (cartridge kind) soon, 
  21. so will this chip also let me daisy-chain external devices with no     
  22. problem?

  24. If anyone has a newer SCSI chip for the A3000 that will work better with 
  25. my multiple SCSI devices, please e-mail me with the details.
